
Celebrate Scottish Heritage at the 48th Central Florida Scottish Highland Games
The Central Florida Scottish Highland Games return to Central Winds Park for their 48th year on January 17β18, 2026! Organized by the Scottish-American Society of Central Florida and Clan Buchanan, this two-day celebration is the largest community event in Seminole County, attracting thousands of visitors each year to honor and preserve Scottish heritage.
The festival kicks off Saturday morning with traditional Scottish competitions and cultural events:
- Heavy athletics (including caber toss, hammer throw, and stone lift)
- Highland dancing, bagpiping, and baking competitions
- Border Collie demonstrations and medieval reenactments
- Scottish clans, artisans, and live musical performances
Families can enjoy the Kids Games, a fun and non-competitive introduction to traditional Scottish athletics, plus hands-on cultural activities throughout the weekend.
πΆ The festivities continue into the evening with the Ceilidh, a lively Scottish gathering featuring Celtic rock bands, food, drinks, and dancing.
π» Food and drink highlights include fish-n-chips, scotch eggs, haggis tacos, beer, wine, and whisky tastings featuring rare and unique selections.
πͺ Donβt miss the crowd-favorite Boulder Boogie, where contestants compete to carry the heaviest stone the farthest distance!
