The Hound Ground: Winter Springs’ Hidden Gem for Dogs and Their Humans

The Hound Ground: Winter Springs’ Hidden Gem for Dogs and Their Humans

Winter Springs’ Best-Kept Secret: The Hound Ground Dog Park

Tucked away in the heart of Winter Springs is a community favorite you might not know about: The Hound Ground Dog Park, a peaceful, shaded haven where dogs can run, socialize, and cool off while their humans enjoy a bit of relaxation, too.

As your City Commissioner — and a dog lover — I know how important it is to have safe, well-maintained places where our pets can exercise and explore. The Hound Ground checks all the boxes, and then some.

🐕 What Makes The Hound Ground Special?

Two Fenced-In Areas

To keep things safe and enjoyable for pups of all sizes, the park is divided into two sections:

  1. Small dogs (under 30 lbs)
  2. Large dogs (over 30 lbs)

Shaded Seating and Picnic Spots

Whether you’re there for a quick romp or a longer stay, you’ll appreciate the shaded benches and picnic tables. It’s a great place to catch up with neighbors while the dogs enjoy their time off-leash.

Fresh Water and Bath Area

A water fountain and dog-washing station are available on-site. Perfect after a good roll in the dirt or a high-energy game of chase!

Park Hours

  1. Open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday: From dawn until dusk
  2. Closed Wednesdays for grounds maintenance — because our pups deserve a clean, safe space

Location and More Info

The Hound Ground is managed by our Parks & Recreation Department and located just off Tuskawilla Road, conveniently accessible to residents across the city.

Whether you’re a longtime dog parent or just getting started with your first pup, I hope you’ll check it out.

See you at the park!
