Additional Infrastructure Achievements

$1.0 Million Reimbursable Hazard Mitigation Program: Secured federal HMGP funding for the Police Safe Room and the Public Works Emergency Generator, ensuring 100% reimbursement to local taxpayers for storm readiness.
$9.58 Million Wastewater Direct Grants: Directly offset local utility debt service by securing millions in state and federal revolving fund grant portions for the East Wastewater Reclamation Facility.
Stormwater Master Plan Adoption: Successfully authorized the city's first comprehensive Stormwater Master Plan, enacting more stringent stormwater management design criteria to prevent future subdivision flooding.
Over 9.3 Miles of Roadways Resurfaced: Implemented a data-driven Pavement Management Plan, successfully repaving and resurfacing 49,102 linear feet of deteriorated city streets.
Citywide Fire Hydrant Modernization: Conducted physical testing and systematic replacement of approximately 1,182 local fire hydrants to ensure robust fire safety and reliable water pressure in every neighborhood.

Successfully utilized emergency Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) funding to execute massive debris, sediment, and blockages removal along Gees Creek and Sheoah Creek, mitigating flooding risks for surrounding homes.

Enacted Tree & Arbor Fund Firewalls

Passed strict fiscal guardrails on the municipal Arbor Fund (Fund 140), ensuring developer mitigation fees are spent exclusively on planting and maintaining public trees and urban canopy preservation, preventing these environmental dollars from being raided for general municipal equipment.

Innovative Drone Creek Patrols

Championed the launch of the city’s first drone-assisted creek monitoring program, allowing public works to utilize aerial technology to inspect protected creek wetlands and catch blockages before they cause neighborhood flooding.

Launched Live Development Tracker

Designed and launched an interactive, map-based public tracker on the city website, allowing residents to view real-time zoning, building permits, and site plans in their neighborhoods to prevent backroom developer deals.

$60,000 ADA Accessibility & Broadcast Expansion

Modernized City Hall technology to broadcast all commission meetings live on YouTube with high-accuracy closed-captioning, ensuring our senior residents and those with hearing impairments can fully participate in their local government.
