Empowering Future Leaders: Girls in Government

Empowering Future Leaders: Girls in Government

Hello, Winter Springs Community,

I recently spent the morning with “Girls in Government”, organized by the League of Women Voters of Seminole County, where I was joined by a group of young girls from 6th to 8th grade, each eager to learn and engage with ideas of leadership and civic participation.

Our agenda was packed with various activities designed to enlighten and engage. We had a guest speaker, Carsandra Buie, who shared insights about never giving up on your dream. The League of Women Voters followed with a presentation, emphasizing the importance of active participation in governance.

As a City Commissioner, I took this opportunity to interact with these young minds, sharing my journey and experiences in public service. Witnessing their enthusiasm and intelligence shows that the future of our community is bright!

Thank you to the Education Committee, League of Women Voters-Seminole County for putting on this event!

Warm regards,

Victoria Bruce

City Commissioner, Winter Springs
